White eraser sponge is a very helpful tool for my specific studio purposes. If I get a scuff on a pour painting, a white eraser sponge takes it off. Same with the walls, if I'm in the market to clean them up. And also my book covers occasionally get a finger print and the eraser sponge does a great job there too.
I generally do not try to maintain that kind of pristine white in my workspace. It's a workspace, not a gallery, and so the scuffs and the marks are going to be there. However, the work itself, what goes out of this space, I try to keep of course, spotless. And this and other kinds of erasers, are part of this effort. I also have other kinds of white marking implements including roll on white out, white chalk, white pencils, white paint pens, white artist tape, floor tapes, and gesso. I keep white carbon paper on hand too for transfer processes, and marble dust too, an ingredient in gesso. If a frame or page needs a touch up, one of these materials or tools will help unmuck things, and bring them back to the illusion of being completely, originally pristine.
